Sheffield, UK, 26th February 2025: Based in Irvine, California, TruAbutment Inc. are a leading provider of custom manufacturing services to the dental industry. Founded in 2013 and specialising in tight tolerance titanium abutments manufactured using Swiss-type turning machines, TruAbutment takes pride in providing a very high quality manufactured product with fast turnaround times.
More recently, TruAbutment has moved from being purely a lab business to being a full solutions provider, covering custom prosthetic solutions, the URIS implant line, digital workflow software and educational resources.
In order to enhance efficiency and reliable communication with their customers, TruAbutment launched the TruSuite software platform in 2023. TruSuite comprises six modules that cover the full design to manufacturing process, from implant planning, scan alignment, AI-guided one-click crown and abutment design, to preparing the file ready for manufacturing.
John Kim, the CEO of TruAbutment commented “We are very happy with our continued partnership with the Polygonica team. One of the key advantages of Polygonica for us is that it handles the difficult low-level geometric operations very well. This frees up our development and product team to focus more closely on innovation, such as AI-guided design, that directly helps our customers and their patients. We look forward to a long future cooperation.”
Dr Fenqiang Lin, Managing Director of MachineWorks Ltd stated “TruAbutment represent an interesting category of customers for Polygonica. Polygonica is not widely known in the dental and medical industries, yet we have a growing number of startup customers, along with some established businesses, that are using it to create innovative solutions in those markets. Given our teams spend a lot of their time focusing on low-level geometric details and edge-cases, it’s really great to see how our work contributes to broader innovation and progress. Back in 1994, when we started developing the core algorithms that underpin MachineWorks and Polygonica, we focused entirely on the CAM industry. We never dreamed they would one day become useful for modelling dental implants, crowns and aligners. We also look forward to a long and fruitful cooperation with Mr Kim and his team.“
